      Purpose:

      The Compliance Oversight and Financial Crime team is looking for Compliance Analyst I investigator to join the team. This individual will be responsible for conducting complex investigations involving potential insurance fraud and/or money laundering where questionable or suspicious activity has been identified, thoroughly and timely. This role involves the ability to effectively protect, prevent, detect, and deter financial crime. In this role, you will work across multiple systems, databases, applications, and teams to make prudent, independent decisions while contributing to the broader needs of the team.

      Accountabilities:

      • Conduct anti-money laundering (AML) investigations and reporting to regulatory and law enforcement agencies.
      • Conduct fraud investigations and reporting to regulatory and law enforcement agencies.
      • Prepare and file regulatory AML and anti-fraud reporting.
      • Review and reconcile All Employee Financial Crimes Training.
      • Review and reconcile Integral (anti-fraud) Training.
      • Conduct monitoring of transactions for suspicion of money laundering and/or fraud.
      • Conduct anti-money laundering risk assessment and ownership of any required action plans.
      • Conduct annual anti-fraud risk assessment and ownership of any required action plans.
      • Maintain positive regulatory relationships.
      • Identify, communicate, and ensure compliance with all regulatory reporting requirements.
      • Update and maintain policies and procedures in all assigned areas and compile Compliance Department policies and procedures.
      • Provide monthly and quarterly reporting, including regulatory, fraud, and AML activity.
      • Agility and flexibility to quickly change focus as prioritizations may shift based on activity is critical to the success of this role.
      • Conflict management skills to deal with crisis situations, hostile witnesses, etc.
      • Produce complete and thorough investigative reports to leadership through data mining, pattern analysis and trends.
      • Acts as a liaison with local/state/federal law enforcement personnel, industry advocates and other companies.
      • Willingness to testify to investigation findings.
      • Working level knowledge of insurance and claim operations.
      • Must take ownership/initiative; significant planning and goal setting skills required.


      Qualifications and Experience:

      • Bachelors degree or equivalent professional work experience.
      • 2+ years of experience investigating internal/external money laundering and/or fraud is required.
      • Understanding of fair claims practices.
      • Understanding compliance regulations and requirements.
      • Understanding of annuities and life insurance.
      • Ability to adapt easily to new or changing situations and priorities.
      • Ability to properly handle sensitive and confidential information.
      • Strong time management skills and the ability to manage your own work independently.
      • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) (preferred), Certified Fraud Specialist (CFS) or Certified Insurance Fraud Investigator (CIFI) and/or Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS)
