- Develop and execute timely and thorough investigations, as well as for-cause audits of distributors, consistent with established policies and procedures
- Document work using appropriate systems, tools and templates
- Coordinate with legal, compliance, human resources, and other stakeholders throughout the investigations process; report on outcomes; and participate in the remediation process
- Provide routine reporting to senior leaders across functions on investigation status, trending, insights, etc.
- Collaborate and communicate across various functions in EMEA to provide oversight to all investigations in EMEA (regardless of the function conducting the investigation)
- Foster and support an ethical/speak-up culture throughout the organization
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5-7 years relevant experience in conducting compliance investigations in a regulated or similar setting; or a relevant advanced degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Experience conducting compliance investigations of varied case-types, including: compliance violations, expense misconduct, improper payments/kickbacks, financial statement fraud/accounting irregularities, conflicts of interest, trade compliance, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) violations and records falsification
- Experience managing large/varied caseloads, managing investigations under legal privilege, and ability to apply company policies and procedures in relation to complex investigations
- Ability to successfully work within a complex organization, including collaboration with multiple stakeholders/functions
- Must have strong integrity and character, including strict adherence to confidentiality
- Experience with local/federal health care compliance laws (e.g., Anti-kickback Statute, patient inducement laws, etc.)
- English fluency (both verbal and written)

A Day in the Life
The Principal Compliance Specialist is primarily responsible for executing Global Ethics and Compliance investigations within the Office of Privacy, Integrity, and Compliance (OPIC). This role involves conducting investigations, including interviews, reviewing and analyzing documents, and ensuring the timely, thorough, and efficient resolution of ethics and compliance concerns, primarily throughout the Europe and Middle East (EMEA) region. This position requires regular engagement with business and operating units, regional ethics and compliance partners, and other relevant stakeholders across the enterprise to effectively conduct investigations. Additionally, this role demands a high level of collaboration with key stakeholders, such as compliance, legal, audit, and human resources, to ensure that appropriate personnel are consulted when necessary.
The Principal Compliance Specialist reports to the Senior Director, Global Privacy & Compliance Investigations, and will coordinate and communicate across functions to ensure senior leadership in EMEA is kept up to date on investigations and trends. Strong written and verbal communication is required, and multiple languages is preferred. This role is remote, and anticipated travel should not exceed 15%.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
