  • Job Description

    • Provides admin, support, and cybersecurity services for Distribution Control Center and physical security systems within the Horry-Georgetown environments. Administers fulfillment of compliance objectives with NERC requirements on all subject systems, including generating, compiling, and reviewing evidence and policies, procedures, and guidelines. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to subject matter expert and support representative for Windows operating systems, control center application, patch management, systems permissions, network monitoring, performance assessments, servers, switches, cameras, and DVRs. Additional duties include participation and support of vulnerability assessments, restoration activities, and incident handling. Access control, monitoring, server support, backup/restoration activities, and documentation are major components of this position. Must demonstrate attention to detail and possess all the skill sets defined in Specialist I position.
    • Essential Job Tasks:
    • Maintaining all hardware/ software necessary for networking and functionality of responsible systems. Maintain and/or install workstations, servers, appliances, supporting devices, infrastructure, access controls, video monitoring solutions, etc. Maintain local data warehouse, data server and log servers. These tasks are not limited to the following: 1) Ensure products are up to date, patched with the most current releases, tested and operating properly in accordance with the departmental patch management process. 2) Manage backups and conduct restoration procedures. 3) Ensure proper functionality of Cyber Assets that support 24x7 operational control room environment. 4) Correct equipment problems as they arise and proactively address potential issues. 5) Generate and assess system baselines and actively participate in technical functions for Cyber Vulnerability Assessments(CVA), recovery/incident response plans, and any other security or reliability reviews, exercises, etc. 6) Maintains, generates and validates documentation evidence to continually fulfill Santee Cooper’s compliance program. 7) Maintain Distribution Control Center system management application
    • Serve as lead for securing and protecting Cyber Assets and systems. These tasks are not limited to the following: 1) Support administration of firewall rule sets for a highly secure network. 2) Serve as a supporting security liaison for DCC Infrastructure. 3) Responsible for review and administration of log monitoring for detection of system problems and possible cyber events. 4) Administers the virus protection and anti-malware systems and processes. Serve as analyst for suspected malware, including mitigation, forensics, and reporting. 5) Monitors system performance and its possible impact on security visibility. 6) Reviews system logs for possible cyber events, supports operational risk and vulnerability assessments and system adherence to CIP compliance guidelines. 7) Perform all tasks with a focus on cyber security and mitigating risk.
    • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert(SME) for all aforementioned items in relation to compliance discussions, meetings, audit preparation activities, audits, mitigation plans, etc.
    • Job is categorized as an essential personnel and requires 24x7 oncall support. May require long-term onsite presence during emergency operations.
