- Increasing public awareness on compliance matters including anti-social behaviour, begging, skateboarding, encampments, buskers, signage, obstruction and micro mobility
- Investigating non-compliance and taking appropriate enforcement action
- Undertaking site inspections throughout the Auckland CBD
- Preparing related reports and correspondence as required
Auckland Council have an excellent opportunity to join the team as Compliance Warden CityWatch. The purpose of this role is to enhance public safety, increase public awareness, support community cohesion, facilitate enhanced environmental outcomes and monitor compliance issues across Auckland CBD.
He angitūtanga: The opportunity
The role has a significant education focus and it is expected you will work with communities and community groups in a proactive and preventative manner to provide education and direction that will encourage compliance with council policy and statutory requirements.The role will see you ensuring compliance is monitored, alleged breaches are investigated, and enforcement action is pursued.
You will be involved in:This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.

You relate well to people of all ages and backgrounds, are resilient, have a flexible and collaborative approach to your work, excellent communication, along with strong resilience. You will be a self-motivated professional, who shows initiative, can problem solve and has effective time management skills. In addition, you will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills and have strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
You have previous experience in an investigative enforcement role, which will be highly regarded. In addition, a background in compliance, community-related positions within a local authority, strong administrative capabilities, computer proficiency.
You will hold a current clean driver’s licence.
