Position Details:
Position Type: Full Time / Contract (one year initially, with potential for extension)
Job Location: Indianapolis, IN with Hybrid Work Flexibility (on-site Mon - Wed)

Compensation: $65 - $80/hr, depending on experience and qualifications

Overview/Summary:
This role centers on mechanical design work for aerospace power transmission systems, including components like gears, bearings, and shafts. Responsibilities include creating and refining 3D models (Siemens NX), reviewing and interpreting test results to ensure they meet engineering requirements, and supporting presentations and technical discussions. The position may also involve occasional failure investigations and requires the ability to understand and apply basic analysis concepts, though the focus remains on design. Collaboration with a team that is primarily onsite Monday through Wednesday is expected. The role favors candidates who have spent the majority of their time on design work, ideally with a 60–75% design to 25–40% analysis split.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering
• At least 5 years' experience in Aerospace, with heavy focus on mechanical design
• 3D modeling software experience (Siemens NX preferred)
• ANSYS experience is desirable
• Must be a US Citizen
