- B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or other relevant field.
- Desire to work hands-on, as part of a team, in both development, test and production phases of a product lifecycle
- Successfully manage time to complete multiple responsibilities with competing priorities
- Strong written, personal, and computer skills. Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at leadership level and on the shop floor
- Ability to write and follow detailed technical work instructions
- Familiarity with data analysis, processing and reduction techniques
- Familiarity with applicable engineering codes and standards
- Strong work ethic with a high attention to detail and level of organization.
- Passion for spaceflight and space exploration.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
- Approaches problems with high affinity for safety
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- 1+ years of applicable experience in component development and testing
- Skills using Creo or other modeling and drafting software
- Experience with data acquisition and automation systems (LABVIEW, NI TestStand, etc.).
- Familiarity with fluid components such as valves, regulators, and fittings
- Experience handling or testing avionics components
- Experience with failure investigations
- Experience related to cryogenic fluid systems and high pressure gaseous systems
- Experience with Environmental Testing (proof, leak, vibration, thermal, etc.) per SMC-S-016, MIL-STD-1540D or MIL-STD-810G.

Engine Component Environmental Test Engineer I
Job Description

This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will support thermal, vibration and shock testing of rocket engine components. You will have significant contributions in the areas of component specification, component selection, tool design, testing, and delivering hardware for various rocket engine programs. This position requires versatility, technical ability, effective communication and strong project management skills.
We work with the designers, systems engineers, and analysts to plan and perform development and qualification test campaigns of cryogenic, pressurized, pneumatic and electro-mechanical flight hardware and assemblies to meet an aggressive development schedule. We plan and supervise thermal, vibration and shock testing on development and flight hardware.
To be successful in this role you will need to author and maintain detailed and repeatable test plans and procedures; define, procure, setup, and maintain test fixtures, and test support equipment; ensure component standardization across programs, where appropriate; oversee environmental testing of components within our test facilities; and conduct data reviews and prepare reports to ensure successful component qualification.
