      Intel's Technology Development Component Research (TD CR) delivers innovative semiconductor processing and packaging technologies to drive Intel's technology roadmap. Components Research engineers and scientists are responsible for leading programs to design, fabricate and analyze novel devices, interconnects, patterning, materials, and integration schemes across a wide variety of novel applications.

      Components Research (CR) is looking for a passionate individual to join our team as a Lab Atomic Layer Deposition intern supporting thin films material development using smaller size silicon substrates for future semiconductor device applications. Final project scope will be determined based on intern experience and business need.

      The length of internship will be a minimum of 3 months starting in May 2024 or later that year with the possibility to extend per business needs.

      Knowledge and/or experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork and/or classes and/or research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

      Minimum qualifications:

      • Pursuing a PhD degree in a physical science or engineering field such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

      Preferred qualifications:

      • Have a proven track record of role modelling safety in the lab environment.
      • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
      • Experienced in the maintenance and operation of Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) and/or Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) hardware.
      • Possess a thorough understanding of ALD and CVD thin film growth mechanisms and processes for oxides, nitrides and metals.
      • Knowledge of the properties and processing of 2D materials.
      • Be proficient with standard semiconductor measurement techniques for thin films, e.g. AFM, ellipsometry, IR, Raman, SEM, SIMS, XPS, XRD, XRR etc.
      • Experienced in experimental design and interpretation.
      • Demonstrate the ability to make well-reasoned decisions with limited data.
      • Ability to make and deliver impactful presentations.
