      YOUR IMPACT
      You will have the opportunity plan and execute technology development projects utilizing your experience in experimental plasma physics. You will be trusted with everything from road-mapping concepts from idea to proven capability, to developing computational models, to designing and performing plasma experiments.
      Beyond that, you may also find yourself:
      • Conducting initial trade studies of vehicle-level impact for new technologies/concepts
      • Collaborating with external experts from academia, industry and government research labs
      • Proactively coordinating with DoD customers to offer technological solutions and small businesses with innovative products


      AeroHiringBlitz M.S. or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Physics or related technical discipline

      In-depth understanding of the physics and chemistry of nonequilibrium and reacting gas flows

      Experience in computational chemistry and modeling nonequilibrium flows Demonstrated ability to apply cutting-edge high-temperature gas dynamics and/or computational chemistry capabilities to aerospace problems including one or more of the following: ionization, dissociation, recombination, high-temperature reacting flows, plasma-surface interactions, emissions, etc.

      Experience with Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC), Potential Energy Surfaces (PES), Quasi-Classical Trajectories (QCT), Direct Molecular Simulation (DMS), etc. for rate estimation

      Familiarity with non-equilibrium processes and related chemistry effects (e.g. excited vibrational and electronic states, metastable states, energy transfer rates, etc.)

      Fluent in high performance computing (HPC) tools and processes

      Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

      Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams

      Excellent technical writing and presentation skills

      Self-directed, highly motivated, product-oriented approach to research
