      Duties


      • Senior ABAP software developer sustaining Logistics Management Program, General Funds Enterprise Business System, Army Enterprise Service Information Portal or Army Global Combat Support System executing software development in SAP/ERP environments.
      • Position supports the United States Army logistics and financial sustainment mission utilizing Agile processes, DevSecOps, Software and Systems Integration, and System Engineering (Data Analytics and Automation).
      • Position will perform development in one or more of the following SAP focus areas FI, FM, CO, SD, PROC DFPS, HR, PM, PB, MM and IM/WM.
      • Serving as a senior Application Developer and is the technical authority and provides guidance, technical oversight, and implementation instruction to junior ERP Application developers.
      • Developing software, changes and enhancement for the GCSS-Army system in the ABAP programming language.
      • Analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving computing problems related to applications, system Software, external or third-party software, and operating systems.
      • Meeting with primary stakeholders to coordinate the activities of the customer/user teams working on the analysis and provides technical expertise on hardware, software, and architecture.
      • Performing analysis to determine feasibility studies and optimal approaches for the application of commercial off-the-shelf (cots) products for technical data automation.
      • Interfacing with management, specialists, and users to determine data processing requirements, enhancements, or problems and advises subject-matter personnel on the impact of new or revised systems of data processing operations.
      • Routinely meet with Team Lead, Branch Chiefs and Architects to discuss emerging issues on the assigned ERP.
      • Building effective presentations or content on a wide degree of technical topics.

      Requirements


      • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
      • U.S. Citizenship is required. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
      • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
      • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
      • One-year trial/probationary period may be required.
      • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Engineering and Technology Practitioner certification within 60 months as of entrance on duty.
      • Commensurate with mission requirements, the incumbent can be required to work irregular duty hours to include working nights, weekends, and holidays.

      Qualifications


      About the Position: This position is being filled using the Direct Hiring Authority (DHA) for AcqDemo Business and Technical Management Career Path (NH). Based on the provisions outlined in the DHA authority, you will be converted to a new appointment.

      The pay band NH-04 includes the General Schedule grade equivalent to GS-14/15. Other initiatives under the Acquisition Demonstration Project include simplified classification, streamlined hiring process and expanded developmental opportunities.

      This is a DoD Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (Acq Demo) position in the NH-04 broadband, subject to the CECOM control point policy. Management will set the pay for this position consistent with the qualifications and education of the selectee and the expected contribution for the position.

      This non-supervisory position is subject to a salary control point equivalent to the GS-14, step 10 base salary, or if the incumbent's salary currently exceeds the GS-14, step 10 level the incumbent's salary may be put on a salary control point at the incumbent's existing salary.

      Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

      Specialized experience: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (NH-03). Specialized experience is defined as: (1) Developing software using ABAP development techniques such as operating
      system theory, architecture, and software engineering; (2) Applying state-of-the-art computer systems expertise towards Enterprise
      Resource Planning (ERP) operating systems and software systems related to the major Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) applications; (3) Assessing performance of existing systems to determine future requirements such as hardware/software upgrades, testing and new system capabilities; and (4) Troubleshooting reported system anomalies to resolve configuration issues
      and software bugs.

      Education cannotbe substituted for experience.

      In addition to meeting the experience requirement above, applicants must also possess the following basic education requirement:

      BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT - (COMPUTER SCIENTIST)


      Bachelor's degree in computer science OR bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. NOTE: You MUST submit a copy of your transcripts.
