- Build and maintain computer vision applications using Python, OpenCV, and similar libraries
- Develop and optimize algorithms for object detection, tracking, and collision monitoring
- Work with live video streams and implement real-time or near-real-time analysis tools
- Collaborate on data collection, labeling, and preprocessing for ML training and evaluation
- Write clean, efficient, well-documented code for production use
- Integrate vision components into larger applications with cross-functional software teams
- Deploy models to edge devices (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi) or cloud environments
- Support system performance tuning, testing, and troubleshooting

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field—or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in Python and working with libraries such as OpenCV, MediaPipe, or scikit-image
- Solid understanding of basic machine learning and object detection models (e.g., YOLO, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Experience working with video feeds and image processing pipelines
- Strong debugging skills and attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving environment
- Real-time video processing experience
- Familiarity with camera calibration, multi-object tracking, or motion detection
- Knowledge of model deployment to edge platforms like NVIDIA Jetson or Coral
- Experience with C++, Rust, or Go for performance-critical applications
- Familiarity with Docker, Linux, and CI/CD pipelines
- Exposure to cloud ML services (AWS SageMaker, GCP AI Platform, etc.) and tools like ONNX or MLflow
- Understanding of hardware integration, networking basics, or message protocols (e.g., MQTT, Kafka)
- Work and commute in all weather conditions
- Able to effectively communicate, listen, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself and exchange information
- Able to walk, bend, twist, turn, stoop, climb steps, reach with hands, use hands to fingers
- Work in a fast-paced environment where they will often be multitasking
- Move about inside the office to access standard office equipment
- Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as keyboard, copy machine and printer
- Remain in a stationary position 50%+ of the time, alternating between sitting and standing
- Ability to move and lift up to 30 pounds
- Drive between company locations and/or vendors or suppliers as needed while on job
Computer Vision Developer
Tommy’s is looking for a Computer Vision Developer to join our team and help build intelligent systems that monitor and respond to real-time environments. This is a high-impact opportunity for someone passionate about computer vision, machine learning, and real-time software development.
In this role, you’ll work closely with our ML and Software Engineering teams to develop, test, and deploy vision-based applications that drive safety, efficiency, and automation across our operations. You’ll help bring complex AI systems into production at the edge and in the cloud.

This job operates in a professional office environment. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and operates primarily indoors with limited to no travel expectation.
