      We’re hiring a Concessions Assistant for the Port of Portland!

      Did you hear that the Portland International Airport (PDX) is opening up a new terminal this year? Do YOU want to be part of the opening party? The Port of Portland is hiring a Concessions Assistant that will be responsible for the monitoring and administration of the PDX Concessions ensuring that lease agreement terms are appropriately executed and supervised. We're looking for someone who is excited to develop and maintain strong business partner relationships with all Concessions Tenants and other stakeholders.

      Your role: As a Concessions Assistant , you'll play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our concessions properties. As a key team member, you'll oversee operations, ensuring a seamless and delightful experience for both tenants and visitors.
      • Provide and facilitate the shared day-to-day Property Management of Concessions Common Areas, Food Courts, Storage and Service Facilities, Vendor Access Program, and Waste Management/Minimization programs in coordination with other department staff.
        • Work directly with Concessionaires and Janitorial Contractors on issues concerning the bussing, maintenance, and cleanliness of the Concessions Common Areas and Food Courts throughout PDX.
        • Share and direct responsibility for inspecting and maintaining Concessions leased spaces, storage facilities, service corridors, and other back areas.
        • Support the Vendor Access program, including security contract, vendor parking, TSA mandated delivery inspections, and Central Receiving/Distribution Center (CRDC).
        • Support the Concessions Specialized Waste Management/Minimization programs, including the bi-annual clean-ups, food composting, waste cooking oil/grease management program, grease trap maintenance programs and waste area.
      • Administer the Concessions Street Pricing compliance reporting, which includes conducting periodic and annual price comparison research and reports, researching tenant requests for pricing and comparable facility revisions, and drafting letters and reports to tenants per research findings.
      • Support the Concessions Quality Assurance programs, which include the Mystery Shopper/Diner program, the Associate of the Month program, and property inspections.
        • Provide monthly reports to the Concessionaires at the Manager Meetings, and the daily monitoring of Concessions common areas, storefronts, and marketing collaterals.
        • Address issues directly with Concessionaires or other Port staff/contractors, to ensure standards are maintained.
      • Manage and administer Concessions marketing, promotional collaterals, event execution and other tenant support.
        • This includes monthly management meeting preparation, overseeing the Concessions sign program, and providing Job Fair coordination.
        • Support all promotional installations and manages Concessions storage facilities and maintaining inventory of all associated collaterals.
        Education and Experience:
        • Course work or experience equivalent to an Associate degree in Business, Marketing, Real Estate or equivalent field preferred.
        • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in projects that require solid knowledge of multiple disciplines such as maintenance, aviation tenant operations, airport operations, merchandising, event planning and execution, environmental and safety, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
        • Ability to pass and maintain a Criminal History Records check and Security Threat Assessment for a PDX Security Badge is required.
        • Maintain a valid state drivers' license is preferred.
        Demonstrated knowledge is a plus:
        • Microsoft Suite applications.
        • Aviation Landside and Airside Operations.
        • Familiar with contract documents and Port Policies and Ordinances.
        • Construction drawings and plans.
        • Entire portfolio of Concessions Operations support programs and functions.
        Demonstrated skills and abilities:
        • Organization of workload and prioritization of tasks to meet changing priorities and deadlines.
        • Creation, use, and modification of spreadsheets for data analysis and reporting.
        • Work effectively in collaboration with peers and team members.

        Selection Process (subject to change):
        1. A minimum qualification evaluation of education, training, and experience of submitted application packets will take place by Human Resources the week of March 25, 2024.
        2. A Subject Matter Expert (SME) Panel will perform an evaluation of experience and training taken from your employment application materials including any responses to the supplemental questionnaire.
        3. Our goal is to schedule first interviews with candidates that successfully passed the SME evaluation step the week of April 8, 2024.
