      Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, dynamic professional Concierge Security Officer to join our team! A Security Officer is responsible for safeguarding people, property, and assets by patrolling, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, and enforcing security policies and procedures.       Job Type: Full-time

      Essential Duties and Tasks:

      • Customer Service: Provide a welcoming and professional presence for residents and visitors. Respond to inquiries, offer directions, and assist with any immediate needs or concerns.
      • Patrols: Conduct regular patrols of the premises, both interior and exterior, to ensure safety and security. Monitor security cameras and alarm systems, responding promptly to any suspicious activity or alarms.
      • Reporting: Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and any maintenance or safety issues. Prepare and submit reports as required by management.
      • Emergency Response: Respond to alarms and security incidents promptly, assessing the situation and taking appropriate action. This may involve contacting law enforcement, fire departments, or medical services.
      • Report Writing: Maintain detailed and accurate records of security incidents, activities, and observations. Prepare incident reports as needed.
      • Emergency Procedures: Be knowledgeable about and able to implement emergency procedures, including evacuation plans and first aid protocols.
      • Policy Enforcement: Ensure clients and staff abide by all policies and procedures set forth by Goodwill Industries of Kentucky. Address any violations in a professional and respectful manner.
      • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay updated on security best practices, customer service techniques, and emergency response procedures.
      • Perform other duties as assigned.

      Education and Experience:

      • High school diploma or equivalent required. Some positions may require additional training or certification.
      • Physical Fitness: Security Officers should be in good physical condition, as the job may require standing for long periods and occasional physical exertion.
      • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with colleagues, visitors, and law enforcement.
      • Calm Under Pressure: Security Officers must remain calm and composed during emergencies or high-stress situations.
      • Observation Skills: The ability to keenly observe and assess situations is crucial for identifying security threats.

      Physical Demands:

      • This job may have physical requirements that are considered sedentary work. Sedentary work involves sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity and occasional lifting up to 15 pounds.
      • Security Officers may work in a variety of settings, including office buildings, retail stores, hospitals, educational institutions, government facilities, residential complexes, and more. The work may involve indoor and outdoor activities, and shifts can vary, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
