- Perform testing on materials including soils, reinforcing steel, concrete, masonry, structural steel, fireproofing, metal decking, roofing, and asphalt paving.
- Inspect and review construction sites for compliance with contract documents.
- Coordinate and interact with contractors in the field.
- Write Daily Field Reports documenting work performed by various contractors, indicating compliance or non-compliance.
- Coordinate with the department manager regarding the progress of projects.
- Transport material samples and move nuclear densometer, lifting up to 50lbs.
- Carry nuclear densometer (25lbs) short distances.
- Concrete inspection and testing.
- Material testing expertise.
- ACI (American Concrete Institute) certification.
- ICC (International Code Council) certification.
- Minimum of two years of experience in construction or concrete inspection.
- Experience with reinforced concrete.
- Experience with concrete testing and reinforced concrete.
- OBOA or WABO certification or ability to obtain it within a few months.
- Nuclear Density Gauge training and certification is a plus.
- Valid driver's license.
- Possession of one of the following certificates: ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I.
- One of the following ICC Certifications: Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, Pre-stressed/Post-tensioned Concrete, Structural Steel Bolting, Structural Steel Welding.
- AWS-CWI Welding with construction inspection experience is a plus.
- OBOA (Oregon Building Officials Association), WABO (WA Association of Building Officials), or ODOT Certifications are a plus.

Work Environment
The role is predominantly field-based, with 90% of time spent on various construction sites around Portland. Travel outside of Portland is not required but encouraged. Successful advancement in the role may lead to assignment at a single job site. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $50.00/hr.
