Money Laundering Reporting Officer;
Second line of defence Anti-Financial Crime oversight of internal and external transfer agents’ (“TA”) activities, remediation projects, fund migrations, AML audits and approval of medium and high risk account openings;
Responsible for ensuring that the Management Company and Funds’ AML/CTF Policy and Risk Assessment Framework are maintained and up to date.
Development and implementation of the Management Company’s AML/CTF due diligence and on-going oversight programme for external transfer agents.
Development and oversight of the implementation of the Management Company’s AML/CTF due diligence and on-going oversight programme for distribution countries and appointed distributors of the Luxembourg domiciled funds;
Provision of AML/CFT trainings to local staff and guidance to distribution teams on private placement rules in relation to the offering of Funds;
Advising first line of defence colleagues on matters relating to AML due diligence on the Funds’ assets;
Day-to-day responsibility for responding to AML/CTF queries from the business on the Management Company’s AML/CTF risk-based approach or KYC issues.
Acting as a point of liaison for the Legal and Client Services departments to help ensure that distribution agreements incorporate or are updated to appropriate AML clauses and obligations.
Overseeing the implementation of abrdn group anti-financial crime policies and standards including leading the implementation of 2nd line of defence activities.
Maintaining the Luxembourg Anti-Financial Crime addenda.
To monitor relevant regulatory changes and ensuring compliance of the Management Company and its funds at all times.
Application and supervision of the compliance rules and internal policies and procedures.
Compliance Support and advisory assistance to Aberdeen employees and to the Management for any question related to compliance.
Contribute and assist in fulfilment of the aims of the Compliance Charter
To represent abrdn in local industry forums and associations and when required to liaise with external parties on any matters arising from the above duties and responsibilities, such as legal advisors, business partners, auditors or regulators.
Manage the Luxembourg AML team, currently comprising 6 FTE.
University degree, preferably in Law.
Significant, proven experience in the field(s) of financial Regulation and Compliance in Luxembourg, especially in the field of AML/CFT.
Previous experience as MLRO and Conducting Officer is required
Solid understanding of investment funds.
Fluent in English. French would be an additional benefit.
Detailed knowledge of the local Luxembourg regulatory and legal environment and a good understanding of EU and other international regulatory regimes.
Role will require availability to travel.

This role ensures the activity of abrdn Investments Luxembourg S.A. (“Management Company”) is conducted in accordance with Luxembourg law and regulations and that the f unds managed by ASIL is made in compliance with international private placement rules and AML/CFT rules.
Primary focus will be to act as MLRO for the Management Company and the Funds under its remit and provide oversight and support for line management to ensure all relevant Anti- Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) requirements are met and that the interests of the funds’ shareholders are observed.
You will be integral in providing co mpliance oversight and support on AML for the Funds managed by ASIL and will contribute to ensuring that ASIL and the Group act in compliance with regulatory principles and rules, the conduct of business rules and other applicable regulations and group policies.
