      Job Overview

      We are currently looking for a Configuration Data Analyst to join our team in Holland. We are open to hiring an entry level or experienced data analyst who can work out of any of our Michigan locations, Holland, Big Rapids or Ludington.

      As a Configuration Data Analyst, you will:

      Ensures successful data structure and configuration of product and associated data through consistent application of policies, procedures, training, and quality standards. Develops and promotes data and process standards and applies knowledge of integrated systems to optimize and implement effective data flow to support business requirements. Maintains and contributes broad knowledge of product, technology, software and/or systems to provide analysis for development of key performance metrics, identification of continuous improvement opportunities, and tracking thereof. Provides leadership and project management for implementations and improvements to products and processes. This role will be project based, helping with our Remedy Force tickets, maintenance of business modeling and tailored solutions modeling. This position will allow someone to get to understand Haworth product and processes through the bill of materials and variant configuration within SAP. This position can span across multiple modules within SAP (VC and MM), thus exposing someone to multiple functional areas.

      Job Responsibilities

      • Develops and uses diverse and thorough understanding of integrated computer systems to configure data and implement processes for ordering and manufacturing systems.
      • Creates more complex configuration rules and related information to support product configuration data sets, as well as Bills of Material (BOMs) and routings.
      • Utilizes knowledge of product requirements and configuration programming to create and maintain product models to validate and price sales order items and/or configure BOMs and manufacturing routings.
      • Develops and implements testing strategies to confirm configuration of product models to match both product intent and marketing documentation.
      • Creates Change Orders to document, communicate, and drive proper workload of data changes throughout organization and, ultimately, applicable data management systems, to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and Maintenance of Business (MOB), through product, BOM, and process routings introductions and changes.
      • Devises, coordinates, and conducts continuous improvement and other mass-data cleansing activities. Identifies opportunities for standardization of process to eliminate errors and inconsistencies.
      • Creates and documents methodologies and standards related to use of integrated systems and setup of data in these systems. Creates and presents training and reference materials for data setup and systems to efficiently, consistently, and accurately customize product.
      • Utilizes project management skills to manage projects for product improvements or process changes or to contribute to management of elements of project, including completing status updates, planning resource requirements, managing risks, and recommending effectively solutions to allow project to be completed on time and within budget.
      • Provides functional direction over technical staff on specific assignments to delegate tasks or level-loading of work load across department members.
      • Collaborates with Information Services (IS) with necessary system improvements to develop Functional Designs (FDs) and testing.
      • Provides training of key departmental and data modeling processes to ensure consistency in process and results across users.
      • Can perform functions of lower-level positions; mentors and provides training to lower-level position members to ensure they are successful.
      • Serves as systems expert for department and supporting departments to provide understanding of processes, data extraction, and data management.

      Do you have these required qualifications?

      • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, finance, Information Management, related business or technical field, or equivalent.
      • In lieu of Bachelor's degree a combination of technical school, college, certificate program, or additional work experience equivalency will be considered.
      • Configuration Data Analyst Level II needs: 2 or more additional years' experience directly related to duties and responsibilities defined, including experience with configuration systems such as Systems, Applications, Processes (SAP) Variant Configuration, Price Conditions or Sales Order Bills; Baan; or Professional Engineering (ProE).
      • Configuration Data Analyst Level III needs: 5 or more additional years' experience directly related to duties and responsibilities defined, including experience with configuration systems such as Systems, Applications, Processes (SAP) Variant Configuration, Price Conditions or Sales Order Bills; Baan; or Professional Engineering (ProE) AND practical experience using tools such as, but not limited to WinShuttle or LeverX which support improved user interface with ERP systems.
      • Current and continuing right to work in U.S. without sponsorship.
      • Ability to work on-site in one of our Michigan locations, Holland, Big Rapids, or Ludington without relocation assistance.

      Do you have these preferred qualifications?

      • Manufacturing process experience.
      • Search and Query Language (SQL) experience.
      • Experience with data reporting and analysis, using tools such as Microsoft Power Business Intelligence (BI), Business Objects, or Forest & Trees.
      • Extensive Haworth product knowledge preferred.

      Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:

      • Knowledge of manufacturing business practices and systems.
      • Proven success using creative approach to problem solving and development; ability to use independent judgment to solve problems.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, negotiation, organization, and project management skills required. Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects.
      • Broad technical skills with good attention to detail.
      • Strong analytical and process mapping skills and other knowledge and use of Lean tools.
      • Ability to adapt to change and learn quickly.
      • Ability to work well under pressure and quickly assess and respond to customer requirements.
      • Proven ability to work equally well as collaborative member of project team, independently, or team leader.
      • Ability to develop test scripts and procedure manuals, based on original research.
      • Strong computer programming and SQL knowledge.
      • Strong business acumen with proven decision-making skills, including root cause identification, method selection, and data analysis as they relate to customer satisfaction, quality, and continuous improvement.
      • Ability to create training materials and provide training to technical groups.
      • Project management skills; ability to manage personal and group projects.
