- Provide a centralized service and excellence in execution for Globally delivered OUS & US Congresses, delivering outstanding partnership with the commercial and medical organizations.
- Engage with internal partners to project manage and complete OL engagements through cross functional collaboration and delivery.
- Build expertise in Society practices related to Congresses and develop relationship/management plans to ensure Amgen is positioned appropriately per TA as appropriate.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external partners to understand their needs and provide them with required commercial inputs, encouraging a symbiotic and aligned relationship, delivering quality customer service and congress execution excellence.
- Partner with Congress Excellence Lead to deliver metrics and generate insights for Congress management and efficiency across both virtual and in-person events.
- Strong management within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure individual Congress RAE’s achieve the TA’s specific set objectives.
- Will require approx. 10-20% travel when appropriate.
- Strong eye for business, critical thinking and execution excellence skills honed by Congress Planning experience.
- Possesses an understanding of broad, global market dynamics and the cultural awareness and sensitivity to form relationships and work effectively with colleagues around the world.
- Strong ability to ‘connect dots’ across internal and external partners across functional and regional boundaries. Enable sharing of learnings and knowledge, standard methodologies and insights connecting collaborators for efficient outcomes.
- Experience and strong competence in Congress-Planning processes, including the use and application of current tools and frameworks.
- Experience handling external partners such as agencies.
- Outstanding project and time management skills.
- Very strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of internal organizational process and procedures.
- Excellent written, verbal and communication and presentation skills.
- Outstanding ethics and integrity and comfort operating in a highly regulated environment.

Congress OL Engagement & Transformation Senior Associate (US - Remote)

What you will do

In this vital role you will drive the design, build and execution of how Amgen approaches Congress participation, delivering elite customer engagement across in person, as well as virtual platforms. This person will be savvy in harnessing the power of technology, understanding drivers of HCP behaviors, and be adept at translating generated insights into intel that informs business strategy worldwide.
This person will have a unique position to enable effective partnerships with brand teams and local markets to understand the strategic imperatives for the brands for prioritized congress events. They will support on developing, building and maintain relationships with key societies regarding Congress activities. Essentially the critical link between the global organization and the local markets in understanding local needs and providing support in locally executed congresses as appropriate. Lastly, they will also support the transformation of Amgen’s internal strategic cross-functional engagement capabilities in the congress space, understand the incentives and objectives of each unique stakeholder, and effectively become a liaison between the Global Marketing and Medical Organizations. This role will have a strategic element, a groundbreaking element and an operational element:
Strategy: Understanding and capitalizing on the objective of congresses in a virtual and hybrid world will require a pan-congress vision in which “One Amgen” is front and center. This role will work with leadership to improve the return on investment of time and resources in the traditional and virtual congress space.
Transformation: Given the shift to a hybrid engagement model, there is an opportunity for Amgen to centralize its management of Congresses in this new environment. The deployment of a global vendor and revised delivery platform and the associated behavior change will be a large portion of this role.
Operations: A shift of operations away from the regions to either global or local markets requires a redesign of existing processes to create a more efficient, productive approach to execute on Congresses.

Basic Qualifications:
Master’s degree
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of operations related experience
OR
Associate’s degree and 6 years of operations related experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 8 years of operations related experience

This position will be paid on an hourly basis. The annualized base pay range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $81,163 - $100,907.
