Navistar is looking for an experienced and talented Data Analyst who will lead projects that use time-based vehicle data to develop toolsets to expedite vehicle development for durability, performance and life prediction of component, sub-system, and vehicle level. These toolsets will support vehicle design and development across R&D and will be available across the Traton group enterprise. The department will build a suite of applications using vehicle CAN data, environmental information, and adjacent vehicle applications to continuously improve the design and performances across all vehicle models. Responsibilities Develop analytic models using vehicle connected data to improve vehicle design Build empirical remaining useful life models for every component of the vehicle that affects uptime Using vehicle IoT from onboard sensors, ECU’s and other telematic information, provide design insights for engineers to optimize vehicle design, performance efficiency and uptime Correlate information from off-board sources to support analytical models and optimize vehicle design Work with Digital Service Solutions team to offer commercial versions of correlated engineering analytical models. Minimum Requirements Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science/Analytics, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Natural Science, Economics, Engineering or similar quantitative field and no experience and will obtain degree prior to first day of employment OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science/Analytics, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Natural Science, Economics, Engineering or similar quantitative field Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status) Desired Skills Engineering degree in mechanical engineering , electrical/computer engineering, computational mechanics or physics Experience writing code for data processing and engineering modeling in Python and SQL, visualization programs like PowerBI, Snowflake Strong background in automotive and transportation system product development Aptitude for learning new systems and using adjacent industries to improve Truck and Bus development.
