Job Description

- Maintains clean, safe, and attractive public use areas
- Cuts grass, weeds, and brush
- Rakes lawns
- Trims, cuts, and waters trees, shrubbery, and flowers
- Sweeps sidewalks
- Applies patches to concrete and asphalt road surfaces
- Maintains tools and equipment, including cleaning and repairs
- May make periodic rounds
- Watch for prowlers, fires, or other causes which might endanger, or result in loss or damage to property
- Directs traffic as required
- Transport machinery to garage for major repairs.
- Travels as needed.
- Dusts furniture
- Vacuums
- Picks up trash
- Washes windows
- Cleans exhibits and displays
- Cleans and disinfects restrooms
- Replace supplies
- Mops and cleans floors
- Greets visitors
- Conducts foot tours
- Helps set up and maintain site exhibits and special events
- Responds to questions from public

Essential Functions
1. Under immediate supervision and on a temporary basis not to exceed 6 months, assists site staff in the maintenance of grounds to create clean, safe, and attractive public use areas during all weather conditions:

3. Assists Site Interpreters in delivering the site interpretive programs:
4. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualification
Required Knowledge, skills, and mental development equivalent to completion of eight years of elementary school.
Employment Conditions
All applicants must be able to meet the following Conditions of Employment, with or without reasonable accommodation, to be considered for this position.
1. Ability to pass background check.
2. Must be at least 17 years of age.
3. Valid driver’s license.
4. Ability to travel as needed.
5. Ability to stand for long periods of time, climb stairs or ladders, stoop, bend, kneel and lift up to 60 lbs.
6. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
7. Ability to work in a primitive environment or outdoors and withstand exposure to the elements on a year-round basis.
8. Ability to walk over rough or broken terrain.
