- Learn to operate a multi-line computerized telephone console.
- Operate PA system to overhead announce emergency-related issues.
- Notify Hospital Police, Plant Operations and Safety Director as needed in response to alarms & other safety issues.
- Use radio to communicate with shuttle and dispatch couriers to multiple locations.
- Learn to efficiently operate the Amtelco software in order to process calls for the Physician Answering Service in addition to paging doctors, nurses, & other Hospital personnel accurately.
- Monitor safety cameras throughout the hospital facility and grounds.
- Ability to perform data entry of information for HIS, PBX and PC software applications.
- Assist visitors and callers with Patient Information as well as provide Health System office locations and directions.
- Ability to multi-task as well as setting goals in order to meet department benchmarks.
- Maintain positive relationships with co-workers and all Hospital departments.
- Gain and maintain knowledge of Policies and Procedures and understand how to use the Employee Portal to look up information.
- Ensure personal performance reflects LMH Mission / Vision.
- Basic typing skills, ability to multi-task with attention to detail and understanding of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of hospital policies, procedures and troubleshooting.
- To communicate effectively and courteously with diverse callers, in addition to staff/co-workers.
- Effectively answer and prioritize calls in a timely manner; overlap callers; take messages w/ appropriate follow up.

Position Summary
Work requires skills to operate a multi-trunk telephone console and computer equipment for processing incoming, outgoing and intra system calls, make overhead announcements and pages via the public address system, basic typing skills to take and dispatch messages/pages via the physician answering service system and monitoring alarms and security cameras under the direction of the department manager.
