      This Opportunity

      WSP is currently initiating a search for a Construction Administration Team Manager for our Columbia, MD team. Be involved in projects with our Properties & Buildings Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges. This person will lead our construction administration team and perform MEP related construction administration for long term institutional clients primarily in healthcare setting.

      The qualified professional shall lead our team of construction administration coordinators, administrative support staff and directly interface with our clients, contractors, architects and internal project teams to provide timely and quality completion of our projects to support our clients’ goals.

      This position requires excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and is a client facing position with direct interaction with our client teams, contractors and architects to deliver success for our projects in construction and closeout.

      Your Impact

      • Managing Construction Administration staff and support team for processing and review of project submittals and RFI’s and field support of project construction administration. There is initially anticipated to be a team of two construction administration coordinators who will report to you. Their duties are to perform construction site visits, field reports, punch lists, submittal review and RFI processing. In addition, management duties will include management of two administration staff for submittal and RFI processing through our Newforma project management system for all the property and building offices in the Mid-Atlantic district. Long term goal includes growth of this team to support construction administration for projects across the Mid-Atlantic district property and buildings offices.
      • Self-Performing construction administrations task such as: site walks, punch lists, issuing field reports, RFI review, submittal review and change order/pay application review (on selected projects).
      • Completion of submittal and RFI review, field report and punch list development through use of iPad and digital forms and record keeping within digital project management system.
      • Proficient use of construction management software systems that may be used by project contractors such as Procore, eBuilder (Trimble), Ibuild and others.
      • Management of construction administration coordinators and administrative staff including responsibility for staff scheduling, utilization, submittal processing and external/internal client satisfaction.
      • Attendance at construction progress meetings for large and/or more complex projects as requested by our internal project teams.
      • Assistance for resolution of construction site issues with our internal project teams.
      • Responsibility for performing construction administration within assigned scope defined by project teams and coordination with project teams when additional services may be required.

      Who You Are

      Required Qualifications

      • 7+ years’ experience in any of the following: MEP design, construction administration, construction project management, facility project management or facility management.
      • Four-year college degree preferrable in engineering, architecture, construction management or related field, CHC certification or a PE registration.
      • Strong knowledge of construction regulations, contracts, and documentation.
      • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
      • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
      • Experience managing large-scale construction projects.
      • Familiarity with budgeting and financial planning for construction projects.

      Use of personnel vehicle is required to project sites with paid mileage and drive time between office and project sites. Lodging, travel and per diem costs are company paid for transportation to project sites that may require overnight stay.

      WSP company travel card are available if desired for travel related expenses.

      Compensation:
      Expected Salary (all locations): $107,000 - $181,900

      WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
