      About Us Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) Pty Ltd is a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment. The Opportunity Hitachi is actively seeking a highly motivated individual to join the team in the position of Construction Equipment Leading Hand for our brand new, state of the art Forrestdale site. Reporting to the Construction Equipment Supervisor and Co-ordinator you will be responsible for planning, organising and supervising the Perth Construction Equipment Build operations to meet customer requirements, while working closely with the Supervisor and Co-ordinator to achieve department budgets and allotted KPI’s. As a key member of the team you will also be responsible for: * Maintain work schedules to ensure efficient utilisation of equipment and resources * Be responsible for the day to day activities of workshop personnel and ensure labour is used most effectively * Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders pertaining to customers, machine performance, product, workmanship, and warranty * Ensure HCA employees and contractors comply with all WHS responsibilities and that a safety first culture is a consistent behaviour within the department To be successful in this role you will have: * Relevant diesel or mobile plant mechanic trade qualifications * Similar supervisory experience with strong leadership skills and the ability to get the team to work cohesively * Demonstrated safety focus with a strong understanding of WHS principles * Experience in the maintenance of mining & construction equipment (Hitachi exposure would be a distinct advantage) * Excellent time management with the ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities * The ability to use initiative to contribute and support continuous improvement, and drive change Benefits * Supportive management who value your contribution in finding new & improved ways of achieving success. * Ability to make a difference with our open door policy to all levels of the business. * Be a part of a leading OEM, who genuinely values and ensures you are happy and safe at work! * Exclusive staff discounts on Medibank Health Cover and other products and services * In house training departments that focus on increasing technical skills and access to the latest technologies. * A permanent long term career within an ever-growing business. * Be a part of a leading OEM which genuinely values and ensures everyone is safe at work while supplying you with full uniform and PPE!
