      Pay: $15 per hour

      *Part Time or Full Time Internship depending on schedule (July/August - December 2025).

      We are looking for a Construction Intern u00A0 to join our hard working Construction team at our new Multi-Family Affordable Apartment site in Kansas City, called The Depot on Old Sante Fe.u00A0

      POSITION SUMMARY:

      A successful construction intern candidate is passionate about construction, detail oriented, curious, team focused, fun, hard-working, and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done right.u00A0 You will work in unison with the onsite construction team to ensure that a full range of construction activities are completed successfully and efficiently.u00A0 The level of involvement will depend on specific project needs, needs of the onsite team, and your individual abilities.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      u00B7u00A0u00A0 Assist in the day-to-day management of overall project operations, people, and processes to help in learning all facets of the construction industry.

      u00B7u00A0u00A0 Vigilant cost containment, risk management, and ensuring the safety of all on site; ensure full compliance with all applicable safety regulations, including OSHA regulations

      u00B7u00A0u00A0 Help to ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures

      u00B7u00A0u00A0 Interface effectively with staff, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders

      u00B7u00A0u00A0 Assist with maintenance of all daily work documentation and other project paperwork, submitting all as required on a timely basis

      u00B7u00A0 Ensure adherence to the schedule, expediting subcontractors and suppliers as required

      u00B7u00A0u00A0 Supervise onsite construction activities in conjunction with the project superintendent and, if applicable, project engineer

      u00B7u00A0u00A0 Explore other areas of interest to learn more about the general operations of HKP and the many departments that will be supplemental to the learning experience

      EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

      u00B7u00A0u00A0 Currently enrolled in a 4-year Construction Program

      u00B7u00A0u00A0 Basic knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods, etc.) as well as an understanding of industry practices, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities

      REQUIRED SKILLS:

      u00B7u00A0u00A0 Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills

      u00B7u00A0u00A0 Strong written and verbal skills.u00A0 Ability to read, write, and interpret reports, manuals, and correspondence.u00A0 Ability to effectively present to groups of people including employees, subcontractors, and vendors

      u00B7u00A0u00A0 Self-starter with a proactive approach who can adapt easily to a fast-paced environment

      u00B7u00A0u00A0 Effective multitasking while remaining detail oriented

      u00B7u00A0u00A0 Ability to work independently as well as with a team of professionals

      u00B7u00A0u00A0 Knowledge of Project Management Software, ProCore, is a plus

      PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

      u00B7u00A0u00A0 Rarely must sit.

      u00B7u00A0u00A0 Occasionaly must use hands to finger/handle/feel, reach with hands/arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend or lift 75 pounds.

      u00B7u00A0u00A0u00A0 Regularly must stand, walk, talk and hear.

      u00B7u00A0 u00A0 Close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus are required.

      WORK ENVIRONMENT:

      u00B7u00A0u00A0 Normally works in an environment with loud noise.

      u00B7u00A0u00A0 Rarely must work in humid conditions, near fumes/airborne particles, near toxic/caustic chemicals, near risk of electric shock and around vibration.

      u00B7u00A0 Occasionally must work near moving mechanical parts and in high/precarious places.

      u00B7u00A0u00A0 Regularly must work in outdoor weather conditions.

      TRAVEL:

      u00B7u00A0u00A0 Traveling to different job sites may be part of this internship.u00A0 Expenses will be covered by the company.
