SUMMARY
This person will be performing various tests and inspections on building materials such as concrete, soil, aggregates, and more to ensure they meet project specifications and codes. These activities will be performed in the field on mid to large size construction sites. The responsibilities of this role can be trained and do not require prior materials testing experience, but candidates with experience or certifications will be considered. Must be comfortable working on a construction site outdoors in various weather conditions. A good opportunity to support learn new skills with a reputable engineering firm and get consistent overtime year round.
Responsibilities:
- Perform testing and inspection of construction activities, including concrete, soils, masonry, asphalt, aggregate and reinforcing steel
- Review project drawings and specifications,
- Report test results and time sheet to the Project Manager in a timely fashion.
- The candidate must have good written and verbal communication skills, and must have knowledge of basic computer software such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Experience and certifications are preferred, but not required. Such certifications may include NICET, ACI Field, ODOT, NETTCP and/or ICC.
- Training will be provided.
Skills & Qualifications:
-High school diploma
-If entry level- must have degree in relevant field (Geology, Earth science, construction, civil). Can be associates.
-ACI, NICET, Nuclear Density Gauge, or other relevant certifications a plus
-Willingness to work varying schedule, including overtime and weekends
-Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
-Strong communication skills
-Valid drivers license as a company car will be provided
