TxDOT's Yoakum District is looking for a Construction Project Coordinator in our Yoakum District Headquarters. The Project Coordinator will oversee multiple large freeway upgrade projects, $200+ million estimated cost for each, in various areas of the Yoakum District. You will work as a liaison between the Contractor, Consultant Inspection Team and the Yoakum District Construction Office. Performs project management work for district construction projects. Work includes oversight of construction projects and record keeping, construction engineering inspection (CEI), and in house inspections for construction and maintenance projects in a district area office. Work requires extensive contact with department staff, governmental agencies, and private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.
Essential Duties:
Coordinates project meetings and conducts presentations.

Oversees construction of multiple projects in a district office.
Oversees and schedules construction engineering inspection (CEI) and in-house inspections for assigned projects in a district office.
Evaluates project issues and produces solutions to address deficiency issues providing insight to the Area Engineer and Assistant Area Engineer.
Reviews change orders prior to execution and assists with coordination between contractors, district construction office, and area engineer staff.
Acts as the liaison between consultants and the district to address project issues.
Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in related discipline
Experience: 4 years Project management or development, construction/engineering support, or related experience (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated part-time equivalent)
-Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis OR related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.
