Job Description

- Manage and maintain all project files for TxDOT related projects
- Understanding and knowledge of TxDOT SiteManager, record keeper processes and procedures
- Prepares and submits monthly and final estimates; checks calculations against plans and estimate to verify work is completed before payment is made.
- Prepare and type correspondence, change orders, reports, letters, and supporting documents; files, orders supplies and equipment.
- Sets up field record books for each construction project within assigned area.
- Must work well with others and field inspectors to accomplish assigned tasks
- Attend and conduct TxDOT pre-construction meetings
- Manage project compliance for federal requirements
- Be responsive in a timely manner to clients, supervisors, and inspectors between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
- Understand and know the audit process and be able to audit TxDOT projects files
- Document labor interviews, Prompt Pay, CUF reviews and Payrolls
- Able to read and understand roadway engineering plans and standard specifications
- Attend AO safety meetings and meetings
- Required to wear personal protective equipment provided by employer and comply with all safety requirements.
- May require construction site visit and work from field office
- Mentor others and train in record keeping processes

- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5+ years construction record keeping experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Moderate TxDOT experience training of various TxDOT CE&I programs including, but not limited to, SiteManager, EPRS, DMS and LCPTracker
- Communicate effectively
- Standard procedures relative to planning
- Preparing and maintaining confidential and sensitive records, files and reports
- Maintaining a safe working relationship
Maintains construction project records and processes related paperwork; reviews and modifies contract documents to reflect changes to original agreement; monitors records to verify compliance with state and federal laws and determines payments due contractor for work completed. Work requires contact with contractors, TxDOT and internal clients. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments and may serve as a lead worker or project leader.
