- oFull Registration with the GMC
- oGMC Specialist Registration (or expected inclusion within 6 months) Note - CESR applicants must be on the Specialist Register at the point of application
- MRCPCH(UK) or equivalent qualification
- Valid APLS certificate
- Valid level3 safeguarding training
- oPostgraduate degree: e.g. MD, PhD in Paediatrics
- oDiploma in neurodisability
- oIs able to demonstrate having achieved the competencies equivalent to the higher specialist paediatric training in Community paediatrics
- oAble to undertake statutory children Looked After/adoption health assessments, including those with complex healthcare needs and provide written report
- oLevel 4 CLA competencies
- oBe able to provide advice to local authority adoption and fostering panels
- oAbility to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
- Experience of tone management in children with Cerebral palsy
- oAbility to manage and lead medical teams
- oAbility to lead on smooth and efficient running of the unit
- oAbility to organise, prioritise and manage high intensity workload
- oAbility to develop, present and operationalise coherent ideas for service development/ delivery
- oExperience of supervising junior medical staff
- oCommitment to formal and informal teaching of medical staff, AHPs and medical students
- oEvidence of participation in audit
- oAbility to extrapolate clinical research evidence to care for individual patients
- oEvidence of having conducted a practice-changing audit
- oExperience of teaching/ training in clinical courses e.g. , APLS Instructor, ALERT Instructor
- oOriginal peer-reviewed research publications
- oAbility to work flexibly in a changing health service
- oExcellent manner with patients, being sensitive to their needs and fears
- oAbility to communicate effectively with patients, relatives, GPs, Nurses and other health professionals and flex style as appropriate
- oWillingness to undertake additional professional responsibilities at local, regional and national levels
- oAbility to communicate effectively with external agencies and other disciplines

Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Community Paediatric service hosted by Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and be part of the dynamic team providing the service to meet rising demand across the specialist teams. The successful candidate will work across Children Looked After service and Neurodevelopment and Neurodisability service.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be clinically competent in meeting the health needs of Children Looked After, including those undergoing adoption as appropriate to role. The post holder with also be expected to be part of the clinical team who contribute as Medical advisor to the Adoption Panel
The post holder should be competent in providing holistic support to children with complex disability including linking multidisciplinary team.
The service does not contribute to Autism and ADHD assessments as the Neurodiversity assessment and support is hosted by an alternative provider locally (Humber Mental health Foundation Trust)
There will be no on call commitments with this role
