- Serve as the day-to-day contact on multiple clients with varying governance models, priorities and degrees of complexity.
- Provide consulting advice on a wide range of topics including plan design, structure, and fiduciary oversight responsibilities.
- Meet client’s needs and objectives and be responsive and accessible to clients, consistent with NEPC philosophy.
- Support Partners and Sr. Consultants on complex accounts and contribute to content development of client presentation materials.
- Guide/train analysts and other associates as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of “white papers” on topics of current or prospective interest to clients.
- Maintain fluent knowledge of defined contribution industry, including trends, best practices, and service provider intelligence.
- Present quarterly plan investment performance in client meetings and oversee the development of client reports.
- Support all functions related to the selection and monitoring of plan investments.
- Participate in investment manager due diligence research meetings and effectively collaborate with research colleagues and other practice groups as needed.
- Strategically consult to the appropriate fund menu and plan features for each client.
- Strategically consult to plan fees and issues around operationalizing complex institutional investments in a daily-valued environment.
- Educate clients as to their investments and to general topics of interest in the investment and defined contribution industry.
- Remain current on significant developments in the capital markets and DC legal and regulatory landscape, within major investment management firms, and major defined contribution service providers.
- Participate in marketing and new business opportunities, as appropriate.

NEPC, one of the largest independent investment consulting firms in the industry, is looking for a highly motivated Consultant to join its growing Defined Contribution consulting team. We are seeking a poised, accomplished Defined Contribution investment professional with a strong track record of building client relationships and bringing new business to an organization. This requires strong presentation, verbal communication and writing skills and a solid technical background. Experience servicing institutional investment relationships or working within a DC environment as an investment expert is required. Minimum five years’ experience in a defined contribution investment consulting role. Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field preferred; CFA preferred. Strong client relationship management, problem-solving and analytical skills, presentation, and communication skills required. Ability to handle multiple, unique client relationships (alone or on a team basis) is an inherent job requirement. Some travel may be required.
