- MB BS or equivalent
- Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons
- Full Registration with GMC with a licence to practice, on Specialist Register on date of taking up appointment or to have obtained CCT in ENT within 6 months of interview
- MD or equivalent
- BSE accreditation
- Wide experience in all aspects of Ear Nose and Throat
- Experience in other medical specialties
- Sub-specialist experience in ENT
- Evidence of participation in staff management
- Understanding of recent initiatives and changes, including Clinical Governance and Appraisal
- Management course and/or qualifications
- Knowledge of the structure of Health Service
- Thorough understanding of principles of medical audit
- Understanding of the role of research
- Completion and/or Publication of audit projects
- Experience of clinical research culminating in presentation and publication of original studies, review articles, etc, relevant to speciality
- Ability to lead clinical research project
- Effective communicator, able to work in a multi-disciplinary team
- Leadership qualities
- Familiarity with information technology and general computer skills.
- Good presentation skills
- Demonstration of initiated projects

Job summary
Wen are seeking a substantive Consultant to support the Department of Ear Nose and Throat in East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. The successful candidate will lead on specific duties as part of the development of a multi-disciplinary team approach to care within the speciality.
