      Job summary

      Expert senior decision-making is at the heart of successful patient care whether that is in the community, attending our ambulatory unit or following admission to the wards.If you want to make a difference to patients at the interface of primary and acute secondary care then we want to hear from you. There are opportunities for sessional AFU working, support to our virtual Frailty ward, ED in-reach and specialty input to MAU. If your skills and interests are towards inpatient care then we can work to create a job plan tailored to that: general geriatric medicine and subspecialty working are equally important in ensuring that frail patients get excellent care wherever they are admitted within the hospital.

      Essential

      • MRCP (UK) or equivalent.
      • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for geriatric medicine and general internal medicine, through either: a) Completion of Specialist Training (CCT) - or be within 6 months of completion at the date of interview. b) Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) c) European Community Rights

      Desirable

      • Relevant higher degree (MD/PhD)
      • Qualification in Medical Education

      Clinical Experience

      Essential

      • Extensive medical experience at registrar or consultant level; competency to manage on-call emergencies at senior level
