- Registered with the GMC with a licence to practise.
- Name on the specialist register for relevant specialty or eligible within 6 months of the date of the interview If an applicant is UK trained, they must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
- MRCOG Postgraduate professional qualification
- MD or PhD or equivalent
- Evidence of participation in CME/CPD in the last 12 months
- Maintenance of a CPD diary or portfolio
- Evidence of the understanding of the systems and structures of NHS Management
- Experience of working with management groups
- Experience in performing clinical audit
- Completion and publication of a substantive audit project or service improvement project
- Demonstrates behaviour consistent with PROUD values (see appendix)
- Good written communication skills
- Evidence of experience of working as part of a multi- professional team
- The applicant must demonstrate skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking the English language that enables effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues as set out in the GMC' good medical practice (2013).
- Experience of teaching student doctors and doctors in training at all levels
- Ability to critically assess published research and incorporate it into clinical practice where appropriate
- Publications in Peer reviewed journals.
- Ability to work as an independent practitioner in benign Gynaecology.
- Evidence of competence in contemporary management strategies in benign gynaecology
- ATSM in benign abdominal gynaecological surgery, Acute gynaecology and early pregnancy, hysteroscopy: Menopause, vulval.

Job summary
We are looking to appoint a Whole-Time Consultant in Benign Gynaecology, at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based in the Jessop Wing of the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
We would welcome applications from candidates across the full spectrum of experience, from those who have recently completed training to those who have well-established careers.
Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post; if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.
Should any further vacancies arise shortlisted applicants will be considered.
Main duties of the job
The appointee will, together with consultant colleagues be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive benign gynaecology service.

The post holder will participate in the oncall rota.
