      Job summary

      Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Endocrinology/General (Internal) Medicine (10 PAs) at Addenbrooke's Hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

      This represents a phase of significant expansion in the Clinical Endocrinology service and offers an exciting opportunity to consolidate and further develop Specialist Endocrinology in Cambridge.

      Main duties of the job

      The applicant will play a significant role in the development and expansion of our nationally and internationally recognised thyroid service and the appointee will have the opportunity to contribute to other areas of endocrine practice including outpatient and inpatient endocrine practice. The appointee will be expected to contribute to in-patient duties, which includes some general medical patients, but not to the general medical on-call rota.

      You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Diabetes and Endocrinology or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.

Leadership is a key requirement of doctors' professional work and this innovative programme is designed to support Consultants to hone the leadership and management skills they need to succeed at CUH.

      About us

      The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
