      To deliver Management Consultancy services in the built environment specifically in relation to Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) / Alternative Procurement in line with client and business objectives which will include being part of the delivery teams for at least the following service offerings – Transaction Advisory, Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) or Bidder Advisory, and Lender’s Technical Advisor (LTA) amongst other services across various sectors.

      Purpose of the role

      To assist, as required, in the delivery of Advisory services to meet the business objectives and secured Projects. To specifically assist, as required, with Project Management Activities related to effective end-to-end Project Delivery. To assist with delegated business development/market development tasks for the Advisory Services offering.

      Place of work

      This role will be Johannesburg based, with both a South African and Regional focus.

      Key Responsibilities:
      Assist with the activities related to the management of Projects as directed to meet client and business objectives including the following:
      Transaction Advisory services related to PPP and Alternative Procurement Projects including the following:

      • Feasibility Study / Business Case Development as per client and contract requirements – with a focus of the technical aspects of the project
      • Procurement Advisory, including the development of procurement documents amongst others Output Specifications and Service Level Specification
      • Strategic Facilities Management Advisory related to PPP Projects
      • Whole Life Cycle Cost Advisory
      • Cost Assessments / Options Analysis development
      • Assist to provide the necessary capacity to meet the technical objectives for Projects as directed.
      • Assist to comply with Business Management System (BMS) requirements. BMS compliance – review Commission (project/activity/task) Execution Plan (CEP)/Project Execution Plan (PEP) on all commissions you work on to ensure BMS compliance.
      • Assist Business Unit to comply with Turner & Townsend’s Risk Management processes
      • Assist Business Unit to comply with Risk mitigation measures defined in the Commission Execution Plan
      • Maintain effective communication with both client peers, consultant peers, colleagues and your manager.
      • Assist to ensure commercial contracts commissions where you are involved are in place with all clients/sub-consultants in line with company policy.
      • Support the development of allocated sector/service/client Pursuit Marketing Action Plans.
      • Ensure the Contact and Marketing Database (CMD) is regularly updated as required.
      • Provide and update contact and lead information for incorporation onto the CMD.
      • Assist with Project Management and administrative requirements such as setting up of the MS Project Programme related to the Project, tracking and updating against baseline, monthly reporting and invoicing requirements i.e., updating the fee invoicing tracker which informs deliverables invoicing to both Client and for the subconsultants, preparation of the monthly lumpsum invoicing which informs raising invoices to clients and assisting on the management of payment of invoices to sub-consultants
      • Assist with the preparation of tender responses both from an administrative and content perspective.
      • Keep Project library up to date.
      • Maintain Client Care schedule up to date as required.
      • Support marketing initiatives.
      • Update the Project Database on a regular basis.

      Minimum Requirements:

      • Minimum Requirements:

      • Relevant technical degree with honours being beneficial – BSc Construction Management/BSc Quantity Surveying/BSc Engineering
      • 8 -10 years working experience preferably on large Real Estate and Infrastructure projects or programmes across diverse sectors and the built environment (alternative procurement such as -BOT, PPP, DBOM, DBOT), infrastructure projects, procurement in the public sector)
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      • Excellent MS Office skills (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio)
      • Excellent analytical problem-solving ability
      • Competent in systems thinking, process analysis and optimisation
      • Basic understanding, but not compulsory, of the National Treasury Procurement Regulations including Treasury Regulation 16 (PPP Regulations) and the Municipal PPP Regulations.
      • Management Consulting experience in the built environment will be highly advantageous
      • Experience in procurement and supply chain management, and alternative procurement will be highly advantageous
      • Experience of working within the broader African market will be advantageous
      • Ability to work in large multi-disciplinary and -skilled teams consisting of members internal and external to the employer
      • Ability to thrive in a high pressure, fast paced environment.
