      Job summary

      We are looking for enthusiastic radiologist to join the team of paediatric radiologists working cross site to provide high quality paediatric imaging services to Oxfordshire and to support the on-call service. The Trust includes a large paediatric tertiary referral centre with a dedicated paediatric surgical, medical, oncology, urology and neurosurgical units and is also a major trauma centre. The Directorate is progressive and keen to invest in the future workforce with such measures as a 4 day week, home reporting, advanced practitioner radiographers and cycle to work schemes.

      Main duties of the job

      The post holder will be part of the paediatric radiology team and deliver high quality diagnostic imaging services across the Trust. Additional subspecialty interests may be accommodated/supported e.g. in paediatric interventional imaging. Candidates with an interest in paediatric intervention will be provided training and support as required.

      The Trust is a tertiary referral centre for paediatrics with a large neonatal unit and paediatric intensive care. The service is delivered at the Horton and Oxford Hospitals. It is a condition of the appointment that the post holder will be willing to work in any of the Trust's locations as and when required, although travel will be remunerated.

      Qualifications/Training

      Essential

      • FRCR or equivalent
      • CCT in Radiology or registration on GMC Specialist Register in Radiology, or within 6 months of achieving CCT at the time of interview
      • At least one-year higher level training in paediatric radiology at a recognised training centre.
      • Full GMC regristration with licence to practice

      Desirable

      • Fellowship in Paediatric imaging.
      • Additional post graduate medical qualification
      • Training in paediatric intervention

      Experience

      Essential

      • General training in Radiology to Specialist Level or equivalent.
      • Additional work experience in paediatric radiology as above.
      • CT, MRI and US imaging of paediatric disease in a tertiary referral centre
      • CT and US interventional skills
      • Ability to make decisions at consultant level

      • Evidence of leadership skills
