- Acting as an ECG ambassador within personal, professional, and alumni networks.
- Graduating with the class of 2026 with a master’s degree in business administration and/or a health-related field
- Three or more years of applicable professional experience prior to graduate school (e.g., healthcare consulting and/or hospital administration or operations) or a strong business background in strategic operations, finance, or consulting
- Strong knowledge of and passion for the healthcare industry
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Proven track record of solving complex problems and completing challenging projects
- Demonstrated diagnostic, analytical, and quantitative skills
- Track record of strong client service
- Demonstrated career progression with increasing responsibilities
- Strong written and verbal presentation skills
- Ability to travel as needed

Your Opportunity with ECG: Internship
Our healthcare consulting internship provides a challenging and rewarding opportunity to students during the summer prior to the final year of their advanced-degree studies. Interns work alongside our talented team of consultants, gaining valuable industry exposure and taking on project work consistent with that of full-time consultants. The program will last for 10 to 12 weeks during summer 2025.
As an intern, you’ll work in the Healthcare Consulting Pool, where you’ll have the opportunity to gain diverse experiences across divisions (Strategy & Enterprise Growth, Payer Strategy & Contracting, Health System Performance, and Medical Group Optimization) and be part of a team that offers a comprehensive suite of innovative, yet practical, solutions to address the most complex and high-stakes challenges that impact national healthcare. We offer an opportunity to work on a range of healthcare projects across all Divisions, servicing clients on strategy, finance, and performance improvement.
Strategy & Enterprise Growth
Develop and support strategies, planning, organizational design, transactions, and partnerships that reposition health systems, academic health systems, physician groups, and medical and health sciences schools for impact and growth.
Payer Strategy & Contracting
Optimize strategies, relationships, terms, and methodologies related to revenue and market position for healthcare providers, disrupters, and payers.
Health System Performance
Lead comprehensive performance improvement and clinical program optimization across the full continuum of care, supporting high-quality care while driving operational and financial results across all care settings.
Medical Group Optimization
Work with health systems and independent organizations to improve the performance of medical groups, with a focus on governance and leadership, integration, infrastructure, and provider compensation (design, administration, valuation, and compliance).

You’ll meet with clients, assist with real project deliverables, and engage in an entrepreneurial environment where new ideas are welcomed and encouraged. Additionally, you’ll be assigned an independent project and have an opportunity to present it to the firm at the end of your internship.

The estimated salary for this job is $61.50 hourly. It represents a good faith estimate of what ECG reasonably expects to pay at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to years of experience, special skills, and market changes.
