- Performs complex analysis of financial models, market data, financial data, and portfolio trends to understand product performance and improve portfolio risk, profitability, performance forecasting, and operational performance
- Coaches and mentors peers to improve proficiency in a variety of systems and serves as a subject matter expert on multiple business and technical-related topics
- Identifies business trends based on economic and portfolio conditions and communicates findings to senior management
- Supports execution of large scale projects, such as platform conversions or new project integrations by conducting advanced reporting and drawing analytics based insights
- Analysis of model performance and evaluation. Identification, assessment, escalation and remediation of risks that emerge during model life cycle
- Acts as primary liaison with Model Governance partners to ensure models remain in compliance with all applicable policies and standards.
- Ownership and completion of all associated model documentation and performance reporting activities
- Driver of strategic enhancements like model version changes, upgrades and participate in the analysis and selection of new tools
- Develops and manages custom reporting to ensure variable and score stability
- Proven analytical ability as demonstrated through 5+ years related work experience, including prior experience mitigating model risk
- Expertise manipulating database software and analytical/reporting tools, such as Python, SAS, SQL, Tableau
- Expertise in identifying, assessing and mitigating risk with models. Familiarity with best demonstrated model risk management practices and proficiency in regulatory frameworks
- Strong working knowledge of the process and tools used for development, validation, implementation and documentation of scoring toolkits
- Passionate self-starter who is highly motivated to help the organization achieve its goals and thrives in fast-paced and highly dynamic environment
- Must be decisive, a team-player, client focused, creative, strategic, and be a thoughtful risk-taker
- Strong understanding of risk strategies, financial drivers, and credit/fraud operations with proven problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly technical writing and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively document and defend model-related topics to a variety of key stakeholders, including senior leadership
- A passion for learning and using data to derive trends, detect risks, and execute strategy projects
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of credit risk strategies, financial drivers, and credit operations with proven problem-solving skills
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Effective project management and organizational skills; ability to collaborate, manage, and expand relationships across the organization and with all levels of management
- 4+ years experience using database software and analytical/reporting tools, such as SAS, SQL, DB2 to access large relational data
- Prior experience with credit or fraud strategies and knowledge of policies for consumer and/or small business lending
- Analytic work experience in support of consumer or small business lending involving the use of scoring toolkits
- Prior experience in the Payments Industry
- Previous Credit experience and knowledge of Credit policies and procedures is desirable
- Previous experience in developing credit risk strategies or models preferred
- Analytic work experience in support of consumer or small business lending
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, economics, finance, or a related quantitative discipline

Job Description:
Responsible for supporting projects and initiatives within US Consumer Card Credit Strategies supporting Risk Detection activities. Core competencies include, identifying and forecasting credit risk through strategic analysis, ultimately creating risk criteria to reduce high risk exposure on customers with a propensity to charge off on existing and future balance build. This position entails managing multiple projects and developing analyses for the purpose of making recommendations to optimize Risk Detection strategies. Reviews and analyzes trends, population distributions, and recommends strategy enhancements.
