      Summary of Role: Responsible for decisioning consumer loan applications in a timely manner within the credit union expectations. The role involves analyzing applicant’s character, financial position, and credit to determine ability to repay. Strong focus on compliance with all states, federal, and NCUA (National Credit Union Administration) regulations and maintaining high accuracy rating while providing exceptional service.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities

      • Utilize superior decision-making skills to independently determine acceptability of loan files and approval/denial of loan applications
      • Work with Loan Officers to acquire required documents.
      • Clearly educate and inform retail team as to decision logic and reasons considered in underwriting loan requests.
      • Review applicants credit profile, analyze financial statements, review loan documentation for accuracy and possible red flags according to lending consumer policy.
      • Calculate income for salary, hourly, and self-employed applicants.
      • Maintain knowledge of Consumer loan products including Auto, Motorcycle, RV, Boat, Personal Loans, Lines of Credit, Credit Cards.
      • Look for opportunities to cross sell members additional credit union products and services.
      • To be knowledgeable and well-versed in the duties and responsibilities of loan operations: including inputting and processing loan applications utilizing the LOS.
      • Maintain knowledge of Orlando Credit Union policies and procedures.
      • Additional tasks as needed.

      Education, Skills, Abilities Additional Requirements

      • A High School diploma or education degree GED (general education development) required. Two years of college is preferred
      • Detail-oriented professional with high level of accuracy.
      • Strong verbal, written communication skills, and strong multitasking skills to manage workload efficiently and meet workflow expectations.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and lending platforms (e.g., MeridianLink Consumer)
      • Skilled in analyzing financial data and credit reports
      • Able to make sound lending decisions in a fast-paced environment
      • Minimum 3 years of experience underwriting non-mortgage consumer loans with full approval authority
      • Experience with home equity products, indirect auto loans, and Episys Quest (Symitar) preferred
      • In-depth knowledge of consumer loan products (auto, RV, personal loans, lines of credit, credit cards)
      • Familiarity with automated underwriting tools and consumer lending regulations
      • Job Type: Full Time (Hourly)
        • Work in Office position.
      • Salary: Salary is determined by experience and knowledge.
