- Write and edit with speed and accuracy, displaying a strong knowledge of English grammar and the ability to create clear, engaging, and informative text.
- Create and update content for multiple websites with search engine optimization foremost in mind.
- Partner with the eCommerce team to prioritize and implement SEO-related site architecture and content optimizations, page updates, linking and maintenance to improve SEO positions for target keywords. Follow process through its entirety, ensuring published content supports SEO goals and adheres to best practices.
- Develop ideas for visual elements to incorporate for better user engagement and understanding as well as crafting headlines, captions, ALT text, and anchor text for links.
- Build writer/designer briefs and oversee content through editing, SEO optimization, approval, and uploading/deployment.
- Deliver quality content on deadline.
- Conduct ongoing keyword research, including identification and communication of keyword opportunities, expansion, and content recommendations.
- Strong understanding of SEO, including content creation and optimization techniques

Populus Financial Group is Content Marketing Specialist to support our Organic Marketing team. The primary responsibility of the Content Marketing Specialist is developing web content for landing pages, blog posts, and local pages to support content marketing strategy. The ideal candidate is a proven writer – skilled at simplifying complex subjects for a web audience – detail-oriented, organized, and an excellent collaborator.
The Content Marketing Specialist reports to the Content Marketing Manager and supports SEO search objectives to drive traffic to online products and in-store services. Collaboration with subject matter experts in our lending, card, and other business areas when developing content is crucial for this role.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CT. In office classification for this position is hybrid with current in office days of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
This position might require after hours and weekend work.

Strong SEO knowledge and interest, especially on how quality content impacts on-page SEO is preferred.
Familiarity with using AI to analyze and inform content generation is preferred.
