- Collaborating with Publishing Director, Vice President,
and stakeholders to develop, manage, and execute customer-focused content strategies for specified portfolios/markets. - Leveraging existing content and platforms to generate
innovative process and product ideas, emphasizing market-focused, cost-effective content delivery and monetizable innovation. - Gaining an in-depth understanding of user issues, trends, needs,
and preferences through regular market research; maintaining knowledge of competitive landscape, trends, and technology driving content usage. - Developing a network of contacts, identifying potential authors
and subject matter experts, and creating succession plans for business continuity. - Attending conferences, author/editor meetings, and
product/technology sessions as needed, with up to 10% travel. - Conducting periodic user surveys and interviews and holding
in-person sessions to gauge customer needs and content utility. - Managing products for optimal investment and profitability,
building realistic budgets, and monitoring performance through publication. - Monitoring portfolio metrics, acquiring new products, supporting promotional efforts, and troubleshooting as needed to ensure that all stakeholders adhere to deadlines and scope.
- Have a Post-Secondary Education in Communications, English, or related field, coupled with experience in Publishing and an understanding of the overall publishing process.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and able to learn new systems and software quickly.
- Able to prioritize multiple projects in various stages of completion, with excellent organizational skills.
- Display ability to initiate proactive measures to drive project success and foster team collaboration.
- Demonstrate superb written and oral communication skills.
- Think strategically, focusing on the big picture but with the ability to dig into details as needed.
- Be a self-starter who is comfortable working independently and within a team.
- Working flexible hours - flexing the times when you work in the day to help you fit everything in and work when you are the most productive.

About our Team
Elsevier’s Education Content Strategy team acquires and curates world-class content and educational training materials. We serve future Dental Hygienists, Laboratory Professionals, Veterinarians, Physical and Occupational Therapists, Medical Assistants, Radiologic Technologists, and many other health professionals. Using customer-focused feedback from students, instructors, and clinicians, we work with authors from start to finish, conceptualizing learning materials, planning logistics, and supporting content development, production, marketing, and sales before, during, and after publication.
About the Role
As Content Strategist, you'll research healthcare markets, cultivating relationships with experts, working with key opinion leaders to build and refine healthcare content portfolios, and ensuring comprehensive coverage from education to practice for future healthcare professionals. You'll prepare a detailed annual strategic plan, research new and emerging content needs, develop big-picture product overviews with detailed specific coverage and features, and execute on the logistics necessary to bring new ideas from concept to market. Throughout the process, you’ll work closely with Content Development, Digital Media, Digital Content, and Global Production to achieve strategic objectives on time and on budget. This role is open to office-based, hybrid, or remote applicants.
