      Contract Accounting Manager (5 month contract)
      Mahwah, NJ (on-site)


      Volvo Cars USA is seeking an Accounting Manager Consultant to join the team for approximately six
      months. This role will be responsible for accounting and reporting within the Americas Region, overseeing
      two entities: Polestar US and Polestar Canada. The Accounting Manager will serve as the primary contact
      for the business as well as global accounting and finance functions.
      Key responsibilities include setting up the structure for how the Cluster Accounting Team (RTR), Global
      Accounting Centre (RTR), and the Front Office (PTP & OTC) collaborate, ensuring alignment with global
      ways of working. This is a management position that will supervise 2–3 employees.
      Additionally, the Accounting Manager will ensure that all accounting transactions comply with Corporate
      Governance standards, maintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting.

      What you'll do

      • Oversee all accounting activities and transactions for two entities, including coordination with
      shared service centers across multiple countries. Lead the month-end close process and ensure the
      accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
      • Supervise and develop a team of 2–3 employees, serving as a functional leader to drive operational
      excellence and knowledge development across the finance organization.
      • Act as a key accounting advisor to the business, providing expertise on new business setups,
      transaction impacts, and reviews of actuals. Ensure complex journal vouchers and reconciliations
      are prepared in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
      • Implement, develop, and harmonize accounting processes in line with global standards to ensure
      consistency, financial integrity, and compliance with corporate governance requirements.
      • Drive continuous improvements in SAP and financial consolidation tools to enhance process
      efficiency, reporting capabilities, and business support.
      • Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors and consultants. Prepare monthly reporting
      packages for senior management and support ad-hoc accounting analysis and special projects.

      What you'll bring

      • Bachelor’s in accounting required - CPA or MBA a plus.
      • 5-7 years of previous accounting or relevant finance experience required – public accounting
      experience a plus.
      • Experience includes analysis of complex generally accepted accounting principles and IFRS with
      application to real-world transactions in a fast-paced environment and demonstrated maturity in
      business judgment.
      • Prior financial reporting experience a plus.
      • Must be able to work independently while remaining a team player.
      • Strong computer skills – MS Excel, and SAP
