- Performs price and cost analyses on the various elements of major contractor proposals, reviewing the significant direct and indirect cost elements such as: material, labor, overhead, general and administrative expenses, facilities, and engineering.
- Develops and recommends price/cost objectives for negotiations.
- Requests, coordinates, and integrates into a comprehensive report the various pricing and technical evaluations of cost elements and subcontractors.
- Reviews the contractor forward pricing rate, final overhead rate, and cost impact proposals, conducting an in-depth analytical and judgmental evaluation of the proposal to determine reasonableness, accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
- Forecasts price trends, economic factors and efficiencies in production for future accounting periods using analytical techniques such as random sampling, cost models, learning curves, and parametric cost models.
- Analyzes available data such as direct labor hours, the contractors past performance, costs of previous procurement, and/or standards and other techniques in producing like or similar items.
- Reviews and evaluates contract price proposals for adequacy and compliance with laws and regulations, and with the Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).

- Utilizing contract price and cost analysis techniques and procedures to analyze contractor's proposals and actual costs.
- Analyzing direct and indirect rates to ensure compliance with cost accounting standards (CAS) and Federal and Defense Acquisition Regulation (FAR /DFAR) policies and procedures.
- Negotiating cost elements and writing/developing pricing reports.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Contract Price/Cost Analyst, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Basic Contracting Requirement: A.) A baccalaureate degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees OR B.) a current civilian employee in DoD or member of the Armed Forces, who occupied an 1102 position, contracting officer position, or comparable military contracting position with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold on or before September 30, 2000 are excluded from the requirements of "A" above.
B. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector.
