CTCT is recruiting for an exceptional Vehicle Dynamics & Controls Simulation Engineer (Plant model development) to fill an opportunity in Chennai.
CTCT (a joint venture between Trimble and Caterpillar) develops positioning and control products for heavy duty machines in the earthmoving, construction, and mining industries using technologies such as GPS, IMU, optical total stations, lasers, and sonics. The products are used in a range of applications where the operator of the machine benefits from having accurate horizontal and vertical guidance and automatic control of the worktool.

      Job Summary
The Vehicle Dynamics & Controls Simulation Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining and integrating computer simulation models of electro-hydraulic mobile systems to support the development of real-time feedback control systems, which are then integrated in the automatic machine control products of the industries CTCT serves. To accomplish this objective the Vehicle Dynamics & Controls Simulation Engineer develops and validates full vehicle mathematical models (physics-based and/or data-based) which are computationally efficient. The Engineer also supports the successful deployment and adoption of simulation models by the control system algorithm development teams.

Success in this position involves working effectively with application domain experts within the established process framework and demonstrating fundamental plant modeling and engineering skills that result in work that is delivered on-time and of the quality expected from an industry leading organization.

      Primary Duties :
Contributes to the development and deployment of plant model and simulation systems within the process framework established for the project. Contributes to the continuous improvement of these processes
Works with the project team, application domain experts and plant model users to establish achievable requirements
Active participant in project management through identification of project goals, establishing useful milestones, task breakdown, and effort estimates to support project scheduling, project tracking, and change control decisions
Creates simulation plant models of construction & mining machines and validates these models meet established requirements
Supports the successful deployment and adoption of the simulation plant model by the development teams that will use the models
Conducts technical design reviews as required by the project framework
