Job Description

- Prepares and files monthly, quarterly and yearly required tax filings (Property, sales and use, 1099, yield tax and others).
- General Accounting:
- Oversee team leading day-to-day operations of following functions: Accounting, Audit, Tax, and Claims.
- Develop, maintain, and adhere to accounting policies consistently; ensure overall corporate controllership policies are aligned across business units.
- Work closely with financial planning and analysis team on reporting efforts and monthly accruals related to budgeting and forecasting.
- Coordinate the annual audit with internal partners and external auditors.
- Prepare Audit Committee presentations on all topics related to accounting, tax, claims, and controls
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities and drive improvements in accounting, reporting and compliance processes / timelines to increase efficiency of the organization while strengthening internal controls and documentation.
- Partner with IT and BI teams for continuous transformation of processes that can be optimized or automated for improved efficiency and accuracy.

- Prepares and monitors fixed assets accounting (including lease accounting) and administration.
- Prepares physical inventory administration, including the preparation of annual audit schedules.
- Performs account reconciliation and makes process improvement recommendations.
- Performs various aspects of the monthly closes, including compilation and recording of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Hires and trains new staff in the department.
- Oversees the daily activities and workflow of the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance feedback.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting,
- CPA required
- At least 10 years progressive experience in accounting roles, with experience in an organization with multiple business units.
- Manufacturing -related industry experience preferred.
- Post-merger integration experience preferred. Combination of large and small company experience preferred.
- At least 5 years in a leadership position
- Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, SAP or other large ERP system).
- Required Valid Driver’s License
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience required.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
- Ability to work well with people at various levels within the company and in cross-functional teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Responsible for leading, implementing, and driving full transformation activities over three groups: Sunkist Accounting, Fruit Growers Supply Accounting, and Sunkist Claims Teams. Responsible for modernizing activities to optimize work, reduce costs, and impact results that provide better service. Will serve as the leader responsible for all accounting functions to develop timely, accurate, and meaningful financial reporting.
