- Providing timely, accurate and actionable financial and tax reporting, which includes:
- Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for accurate accounting of business results
- Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
- Ensuring monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements with various stakeholders are met
- Support in Board reporting for presentation at quarterly meetings
- Overseeing tax filing requirements
- Preparing and reporting on financial projections to the executive team
- Coordinating and leading the external audit process
- Owning the budget monitoring and planning process through:
- Monthly budget to actual variance analysis with relevant departments, and reporting important findings to VP, Finance & Growth
- Leading the annual budgeting process by working closely with department heads and executive team
- Maintaining a rolling P&L by working closely with the Sales & Forecasting Analyst and relevant departments
- Providing the company with ad-hoc financial analysis to support business decisions
- Ongoing assessment of current accounting operations and internal controls, providing recommendations and implementing new processes as necessary
- Monitoring business performance metrics
- Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- Accounting designation (CPA)
- Minimum 4 years experience in a senior accounting or financial management role
- Strong analytical and organisational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Confident in ability to work closely with senior management / executives
- Exceptional Excel skills
- Experience with Netsuite and Vividly is an asset
As our Controller you will manage all finance and accounting operations, growing our mission to Kick Sugar, Keep Candy! This role reports to the VP, Finance & Growth and will be hybrid in Vancouver, BC. The contract will run from October 2023 to December 31st, 2024.
