      Purpose of Role

      As a Distribution House Conveyor Ops, you will be responsible to work with the master scheduler and Operations Leadership to understand, manage and balance the conveyor flow throughout the building with on-the-floor presence. Conveyor Ops teammates perform an array of functions to support the overall workflow which includes contributing to driving a safety culture and Under Armour’s Core Competencies

      Your Impact

      Maintains a clean and safe work environment and reports any unsafe working conditions or equipment.

      • Direct, and monitor, distribution systems and conveyor merge controls to enable efficient and effective carton flow through an automated distribution warehouse.

      • Systematically turning merge lanes on and off to control the carton flow between departments, while partnering with Ops leadership and sending out proper communication.

      • Prioritize merge lanes based on current volumes and available space in the destination area

      • Understand the normal operation of individual conveyor sections

      • Responsible for physically clearing jams that are accessible without AWP (Arial work platforms)

      • Ability to identify and escalate problem areas to Maintenance Support for system repairs, hardware adjustments, and jams that require an AWP.

      • Use various systems such as WCS (QC Software), WM, Ignition, Indigo Vision, and others as needed in order to research carton issues, Lane Full conditions, route verification, enable Panda systems, scanner log, and provide daily statistics.

      • Use PKMS software to research DPB (Dynamic Pallet Build) for sufficient locations and quantity as well as verify Server status and communications.

      • Provide feedback, guidance, and recommendations to leadership via verbal and written communication methods to minimize bottlenecks, and improve carton flow efficiency and level staffing.

      • Send out information and reports on a scheduled basis to leadership.

      • Support researching escalated carton rejects to identify route cause, review quality concerns with label quality or placement, and routing cartons.

      • Actively seeks and recommends opportunities for continued improvement in warehouse operations and standards.

      • Continuously learn, coach, and support policies and procedures throughout the Distribution House.

      • Work with Distribution House leadership to implement corporate strategy(s) and initiative(s).

      Qualifications

      • Demonstrates willingness to train and assist cross-functionally in other areas of the DH.

      • May work in various departments as needed.

      EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

      • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; 6 months warehouse experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

      • Knowledge of warehouse management systems; warehouse control systems, Excel.

      • Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

      • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

      • Ability to work independently

      • Excellent oral and written communication skills

      • Ability to identify and resolve business problems within a team setting

      Workplace Location

      Must reside within commuting distance of the Sparrows Point, MD facility.
