      Position Overview

      The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Cook County Administrative Support Services Manager. Under administrative direction, this position will plan, organize, direct, and implement Cook County Administrative Support Operations, Central Stores, and relocation of Departmental offices. The position will serve as full line supervisor of Cook County Administrative Services staff and will serve as liaison with the Department of Central Management Services, DCFS Regional Administrators, and private sector lessors regarding leasing issues. This position provides a great opportunity for someone with a background in administrative services who is interested in managing supportive functions for the Department of Children and Family Services.       Job Responsibilities

      1. Serves as Cook County Administrative Support Services Manager

      2. Serves as full line supervisor of subordinate supervisory staff

      3. Serves as liaison with the Department of Central Management Services, DCFS Regional Administrators, and private sector lessors regarding leasing issues, including space acquisition, lease interpretation, and the remodeling, renovation, or construction of office space

      4. Provides oversight of Administrative Support budgetary operations, monitoring to ensure fiscal compliance

      5. Determines and prioritizes space needs for Cook County work locations with input from Central Office staff

      6. Oversees the vehicle fleet management process for Cook County in conjunction with the Statewide Vehicle Coordinator

      7. Collaborates with the Statewide Property Control Manager regarding the implementation of the Department’s inventory maintenance

      8. Serves as liaison to the Procurement Unit

      9. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

      Minimum Qualifications

      1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration

      2. Requires three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization

      Preferred Qualifications

      1. 3 years of experience managing an administrative services operation in a public or business organization

      2. 3 years of professional experience in budgetary operations and/or procurement services

      3. 3 years of experience supervising professional staff in a public or business organization

      4. 3 years of professional experience in the oversight of a large program with multiple sites or multiple teams of subordinate professional staff

      5. 3 years of professional experience conducting long-range planning for facility needs

      6. 3 years of professional experience in lease management in a public or business organization

      7. 3 years of professional experience in the development and implementation of policies and procedures in a public or business organization
