Under the general supervision of the Kitchen Manager and the Director of Food and Nutrition, you would perform a variety of routine duties in the kitchen including, but not limited to, preparing and serving entrees, soups, and side dishes for the day to day operation and patient care. Strict sanitary conditions are maintained following established practices and procedures. Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) documentation is completed and appropriately filed.

Scheduled hours for this position:

• Shifts include 11:00AM-7:30PM and 6:00AM-2:00PM. Days, evenings and weekends

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent, required.

Experience:

• Previous hospital food service experience, preferred but not required.
• Previous food service cook experience, preferred

Skills:

• Effective written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and Reading Comprehension, are required.
• Ability to build rapport quickly, develop trust, sustain working relationships, and represent LFH positively in internal and external meetings is required.
• Strong time-management and organizational skills are required.
• Must be able to perform simple math calculations.
• Ability to monitor HACCP and perform appropriate corrective action when necessary.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires extensive standing, occasional sitting and routine walking.
• Frequently lift objects weighing 35 pounds.
• Works in hot and cold internal environments.
