      POSITION SUMMARY

      The Cook is responsible for accurately and efficiently cook food products following company menus and recipes utilizing proper food handling procedures in compliance to the HCCP plan. Communicates with the supervisor on daily production and necessary products for the week. Keeps area clean and sanitizes during and after the end of the shift following stablished sanitary guidelines.


      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

      • Prepares a variety of protein, starches, vegetables, and other food items utilizing commercial kitchen equipment.
      • Works directly with kitchen helpers, drivers, and utility staff to efficiently complete the daily production.
      • Assumes 100% responsibility for quality and taste of finished products.
      • Complies with proper portioning, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen policies and procedures.
      • Checks and maintains sufficient levels of food products for daily production.
      • Maintains daily records and logs on food temperatures produced including freezer/cooler logs.
      • Keeps waste to a minimum and keeps record of discarded food items.
      • Portions, labels, and stores all food products following proper food handling procedures.
      • Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, all kitchen equipment, and refrigeration equipment.
      • Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly (FIFO)
      • Assist with current inventory and other assigned duties by the supervisor.
      • Closes or ends shift following closing check list for the kitchen.

      EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

      • High school or Equivalent, Certification/Diploma

      • At least 2 years of experience as a commercial cook.

      • Food Handlers certificate or equivalent.

      REQUIRED SKILLS

      • Willing and open to exploring new ventures within realm of job description.

      • Intermediate to advanced Computer literacy.

      • Ability to work under pressure to achieve deadlines
