      • JOB SUMMARY
        • The Coord-PB Coding works closely with department supervisors, educators, and auditors, and other UK King's Daughters entities to provide ongoing coding communication and support to coders throughout the organization.
      • DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
        • Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties:
        • Maintains knowledge of up-to-date coding regulations and guidelines.
        • Works closely with the revenue cycle functions regarding billing issues and questions regarding coded claims
        • Analyzes coding related denials to determine coding team educational needs
        • Reviews payer policies to ensure payer specific guidelines are followed.
        • Monitors work queues for charge review, claim edit and follow up issues.
        • Processes team payroll and tracks time-off
        • Provides coverage in absence of department supervisor
        • Encourages effective team member relationships
        • Creates an ethical, non-discriminatory and safe work environment
        • Establishes effective communication lines/methods
        • Responds and resolves team member concerns and helps resolve conflict.
        • Continuously works to improve or recommend changes to enhance the level of service, quality and efficiency of the team’s contribution to the organization.

      • EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
        • Minimum requirement:
            • Physician Coding Certification (CPC or CCS)
        • Preferred qualifications:
            • Current UK King's Daughters PO Charge Capture Specialist
      • WORKING ENVIRONMENT
        • This job operates in a professional office environment routinely using standard office equipment such as computers.
        • Occasionally requires travel to and from off-site locations
        • The noise level in this position is usually low
      • PHYSICAL DEMANDS
        • Frequently required to maintain a stationary position behind a computer or while presenting to individuals or groups.
        • Frequently required to move about throughout the Medical Center or while rounding.
        • Constantly required to communicate with people electronically, telephonically and in-person requiring talking and hearing.
        • Constantly required to operate a computer and telephone.
        • Constantly required to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
        • Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
        • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
        • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
