Assist with the planning and logistics of community events/campaigns.
Work closely with promotions, sales, and news to execute community events.
Help create agreements with community organizations.
Create event recaps.
Assist with the production of the local weekly community affairs program.
Schedule, manage and maintain TV/Radio PSAs.
Assist with the creation of content for the local community online page.
Assist with the researching, writing, editing, and uploading of articles on the Univision Houston website.
Assist in the maintenance of the TV/Radio Online Public Inspection Files (OPIF.)
Assist with the creation and filing of the quarterly FCC Reports for TV/Radio.
Assist with the filing of Political files.
EEO Officer responsibilities for TV/Radio and assist with the creation of the EEO Annual report.
Bachelor’s degree in public relations or another communications field, social science, or business.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Community planning, engagement, and outreach.
Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
Performs additional duties, as assigned by Community Empowerment Director and/or General Manager.
Knowledge of iNews, Citrix (Wide Orbit,) VCreative, AKTA, BEX, Canvas, Google Workspace programs, Smartsheet, and Handshake is a plus, but not necessary.
Ability to be flexible and adapt to changes and updates in responsibilities, procedures, or systems.
Must have a valid Driver’s License with good driving record.
Must be willing to work from the office in Houston, TX (Hybrid position)
Bilingual: English/Spanish
ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:
The Community Empowerment Coordinator reports to the Director of Community Empowerment and assists in different areas: community partnerships (projects related to station partnerships with companies, governmental and non-profit organizations, as well as community events), content creator/producer (production of the local weekly community affairs program, as well as public service announcements and digital content) local FCC (Federal Communications Commission) compliance (maintaining the Online Public Inspection File, Issues/Programs lists, EEO Officer and Political File) and employee engagement efforts.

You are passionate about community outreach, engagement, and development and you are experienced in building relationships and coordinating event logistics. You can create content that is relevant to the Hispanic community. You have a positive attitude, are a team player and no challenge is too large because you are accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment.
