- Advise Software Engineering graduate students in the areas of policies, schedule, and degree requirements.
- Submit curriculum updates, new course proposals/additions/modifications, and new programs (plan) to curricular affairs for all Software Engineering graduate programs.
- Work with students and their faculty advisors on GradPath forms to create Plan of Study for MS, PhD students and students choosing to minor in Software Engineering.
- Event planning for graduate related affairs including new student orientation for main campus and online graduate students, and open house sessions.
- In collaboration with Department Head, Program Director, and Director of Graduate Studies, allocate Teaching Assignments for all Software Engineering courses, facilitate funding assignments from research faculty, provide TA/Grader responsibilities, on-board TA/Grader with Older Engineering Business Center (OEBC) for timesheet approvals.
- Facilitate external awards for scholarships and stipends.
- Issue International Students: Letters of Support, I-20, GISALS, U.S. visa process in collaboration with International Student Services (ISS).
- Create plans of study for cultural sponsors, ROTC students, Independent Study, internships, and other career opportunities.
- Collaborate with undergraduate advisor and faculty members to plan and manage Accelerated Master's Program.
- Manage graduate applications for the academic year and serve as point of contact for admissions/recruitment.
- Participate in Graduate Studies Committee.
- Manage MS thesis/report assessment requirements with faculty committee.
- Coordinate scheduling of Doctoral Qualifying Exam.
- Manage PhD comprehensive exam and final oral defense assessments and scheduling.
- Compile list of expected fall, spring, winter, and summer graduates.
- Coordinate College of Engineering Outstanding Graduate Student/Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant selection with nominating faculty.
- Prepare and administer exit survey for expected graduates.
- Prepare reports of graduate student data for faculty retreat, including new student enrollment for all campuses, update trackers for current students, alumni, and doctoral milestones. MS thesis and PhD Comp/Final Oral Defense trackers.
- Other duties as assigned by Department Head.
- Attend relevant College and UArizona graduate coordinator meetings.
- Participate in relevant department and college committees.
- Engage in applicable professional development opportunities.

- Bachelor's degree in a field related to area of assignment or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.
- Experience with applicable information processing systems used to manage applications and admissions as well as student recordkeeping.
- Experience with advising practices and principles.
- Experience working with underprepared students.
- Experience working with a diverse student population.
- Experience with MS Office Suite.

This position is responsible for providing academic advising, programming, scheduling, admissions/enrollment management, and general support of the graduate programs in Software Engineering.
The MS and PhD in Software Engineering will become available at the beginning of the 2023-2024 Academic Year. These degrees will be offered to Main Campus and Arizona Online students with potential for further expansion.
The ideal candidate will assist in the development and maintenance of the new MS and PhD Software Engineering degrees by serving as a point of contact for admissions; managing student plans of study, petitions, and required milestone documentation. Advise students on degree requirements, facilitating student-faculty advisor relationships, and working with the graduate studies committee to establish program processes that are in alignment with SIE and the Graduate College. This candidate will collaborate with the Software Engineering/SIE faculty and staff to provide an excellent student experience that builds and strengthens recruitment, retention, and graduation goals for the new program.
